I have enjoyed many years of private trumpet instruction for both students and professionals.
I work with my young students on scales, sight reading, sound quality, intonation, endurance, consistency and excellence in performance. I also will address any special needs or goals they might have.
With professionals, I work on short-term and long-term goals, chop problems, sound production, and efficient practice methods.
I am demanding of my young students to be far above average. I do not take students who don't practice, as I feel it is a waste of their parent's money, and a waste of our time. I try to groom them so that my students are the trumpeters all the other trumpet players wish they sounded like. Being a student of mine gives parents and students access to me at any time for questions, problems, equipment issues and so on. I feel that this is part of what you are paying for.
As you face your new challenges (that's putting it lightly!), I have had many requests for virtual trumpet lessons.
I use Zoom, Skype and FaceTime for lessons and I teach in half hour increments. The cost is $40/half hour.
